Directed by Dave McCary from a screenplay by Kevin Costello and Kyle Mooney, the indie comedy stars Mooney, Beck Bennett, Claire Danes, Mark Hamill, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Greg Kinnear, Kate Lyn Sheil, Ryan Simpkins, Matt Walsh and Michaela Watkins.  The Lonely Island, Lord Miller, 3311 Productions and YL Pictures produced the indie comedy.

Synopsis:

BRIGSBY BEAR Adventures is a children’s TV show produced for an audience of one, James (Kyle Mooney). When the show abruptly ends, James’ life changes forever and he sets out to finish the story himself.

Sony Pictures Classics acquired the distribution rights following the film’s world premiere earlier this year at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.  Orchard, Netflix, eOne and Universal also expressed an interest in acquiring the rights.

A panel is scheduled to take place today in Hall H at Comic Con where Mooney, McCary, Bennett, Costello and The Lonely Island (who produce) are all expended to attend.

Following its bow in New York and Los Angeles on July 28th, the film will start to expand nationwide.  It will open in Chicago on August 4, 2017.
