With Wizard World Chicago set to take over the Rosemont suburb next month, it’s time to start making plans for who to see during the Comic Con. Whether it’s movies, television, or comic books, there’s something for everyone when Wizard World Chicago takes place August 23-26 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.
This year’s installment of Wizard World Chicago marks the 20th anniversary in Chicago. What better way to celebrate than bring in Sebastian Stan from the Captain America franchise? Dave Bautista and Pom Klementieff will be representing the Guardians of the Galaxy. Tom Welling, best known for playing Clark Kent/Superman in Smallville, and Lex Luthor himself, Michael Rosenbaum, will also be heading to town. A star of both LOST and The Vampire Diaries, Ian Somerhalder will be making an appearance.
For Outlander fans, there will be six stars from the cast making an appearance. Sam Heughan, Catriona Balfe, Graham McTavish, Lotte Verbeek, Richard Rankin, and Sophie Skelton will all be in Chicago.
If nostalgia is what you want, you’ve got it! Four stars of Boy Meets World are heading to Chicago: Ben Savage, Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong, and Will Friedle. Marvel and DC aside, these are my four most anticipated celebrities given how much of a role they played in my adolescence. Christy Carlson Romano, best known for Even Stevens and Kim Possible, will be here. The Disney alumnus starred in last year’s Bear with Us.
From Buffy the Vampire Slayer: James Marsters and Charisma Carpenter. From Charmed: Holly Marie Combs and Brian Krause. From Rookie of the Year and American Pie, Thomas Ian Nicholas heads back to Chicago. No word yet as to whether or not the Chicago Cubs came through on a World Series ring.
If you want nostalgia that goes back even further, one of the original Star Trek actors, Nichelle Nichols, is coming to town. From Happy Days to Barry, Henry Winkler will be making a return to Chicago. He was most recently in town for a screening of the new HBO series.
Matt Ryan, upgraded to a series regular in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, will be representing the Arrowverse. Seen most recently in Marvel’s Runaways, Greg Sulkin heads to town. David Krumholz will also make an appearance.
