The four Batman films released between 1989-1997 are now available on 4K Ultra HD in honor of the Dark Knight’s 80th anniversary.
Created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, the Dark Knight recently celebrated the 80th anniversary of his first appearance in Detective Comics. Appropriately, four different titles are now available with remastered release in 4K UHD today. The titles include 1989’s Batman and 1992’s Batman Returns, directed by Tim Burton, and 1995’s Batman Forever and 1997’s Batman & Robin, directed by Joel Schumacher. If you prefer to wait, the complete four-film collection will be available on September 17, 2019. This collection will also include remastered Blu-rays of the four films. The bonus content will also include more than 17 hours of previously released extras, including full-length commentaries from both directors.
If you don’t like to bring home physical media, you’re in luck, too. The films will also be digitally available on Movies Anywhere.
For fans of The Dark Knight, this is pretty much the best gift that anyone can ask for. Aside from the Christopher Nolan films. The remastered release comes days after Robert Pattinson was named to take over for the Caped Crusader in a new trilogy of films from Matt Reeves. Though I am surprised to see that the fourth film is seeing the light of day in this collection. This isn’t to say anything particularly bad about the film though. I’m partial to the film for cough trans reasons cough. This is honestly another story for another day. In the meantime, just enjoy it for what it’s worth.
