Think Like A Dog Is Now Available

The predictably cute family comedy Think Like A Dog is now available from Lionsgate for viewers to watch on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital.

Tech genius Oliver (Gabriel Bateman) is twelve-years-old and lives with his parents, Lukas (Josh Duhamel) and Ellen (Megan Fox).  When we first meet him, he’s about to present his middle school science fair experiment.  The experiment doesn’t go wrong (hello, bullying!) so he makes another attempt at home with his dog, Henry (voice of Todd Stashwick).  The two were already best friends so I’m sure you can imagine what happens next.  They develop a telepathic connection that brings their bond closer together.  Henry now gives Oliver life advice when it comes to girls but also Henry’s parents.

There are other forces at play here including an agency investigating their satellite being hacked.  Meanwhile, tech genius Mr. Mills (Kunal Nayyar) is very interested in Oliver’s technology.  Let’s just say that the third act is predictable as a third act can be of this particular genre.

Fox reunites with Transformers co-star Josh Duhamel in this family comedy.  Both Fox and Duhamel make the best of the material they’ve been given.  Let’s be honest here in that the focus isn’t so much on them as Henry.  For what it’s worth, you can’t help but wonder what Megan Fox’s career could have been like.

While filmmaker Gil Junger is best known for directing sitcoms, he’s also the same guy who directed 10 Things I Hate About You.  If you’re expecting a classic along those lines, you will not find it in this film.  Meanwhile, there’s nothing to really think about when it comes to the film.  If you like films with talking dogs, Think Like A Dog is just charming enough.
