Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins Hits Home Video

After playing in theaters this summer and making an early arrival on digital, Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins is now available on home video.

This film was seen as an opportunity to reboot the franchise. Unfortunately, it bombed at the box office, bringing in $37 million worldwide against an $88 million production budget. Throw in marketing and such and the film would have needed $160-175 million to break even. The film’s summer release also came during an inopportune time to open a film during the rise of the Delta variant. Would it have served the film to delay it until it could enjoy a wider release? I don’t know. But given the film’s dismal box office, it’s highly unlikely this franchise will be continuing with Henry Golding.

In addition to bringing home this movie by itself, fans also have the option to bring home a 3-movie giftset that also includes G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Both films made their 4K UHD arrival earlier this year and the giftset is available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, or Digital.
