Beijing 2022: Thursday’s Olympics Schedule

Primetime coverage on NBC is the main attraction as the Winter Olympics coverage from Beijing leads up to Friday’s opening ceremony.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 3

The 2018 gold medal-winning U.S. women’s ice hockey team begins its gold medal defense in opening round play against Finland tomorrow live at 8:10 a.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock. Pre-game coverage gets underway at 7:30 a.m. ET. The team features 13 players from the 2018 Olympic team, including Kendall Coyne Schofield, Hilary Knight, and Brianna Decker.

NBC’s opening night of primetime competition tomorrow features live figure skating as well as qualifying for men’s and women’s moguls beginning at 8 p.m. ET. Three-time world champion and 2018 Olympian Nathan Chen is expected to compete in the men’s short program portion of the team event. Chen was a member of the U.S. team that took home the bronze medal in the event in 2018.

The U.S. women’s moguls team is expected to be headlined by Kai Owens and 2018 Olympian Jaelin Kauf in qualifying on Thursday.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 4

Coverage of the Opening Ceremony is this Friday with full-day coverage across NBCUniversal, beginning with NBCU’s first-ever live morning presentation of a Winter Games Opening Ceremony at 6:30 a.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. The Opening Ceremony will be followed by a special edition of TODAY at 9 a.m. ET with reaction and athlete interviews. NBC will then present a first-ever Olympic Daytime show on the opening Friday of the Winter Games at noon ET, previewing the upcoming competition. The day-long coverage will culminate with an enhanced primetime broadcast of the Opening Ceremony featuring special coverage of Team USA, along with the performances, pageantry, and Parade of Nations — the heart of any Opening Ceremony — at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

Two-time gold medalist Jamie Anderson seeks her third straight gold medal in women’s slopestyle snowboarding and will compete in qualifying Friday live at 10 p.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock.
