John Mulaney Has Dave Chappelle Open For Him

John Mulaney screwed the Disney+ opening weekend of Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers by having transphobic comedian Dave Chappelle open for him.

Not only did Mulaney screw over his castmates but he screwed his fans in attendance by allowing the transphobic comedian to perform. This happened during Mulaney’s From Scratch tour at Ohio State University’s Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio. If you’ve already read the reports, fans had to seal up their phones before the show. Imagine finding out at showtime that you paid to see a transphobic comedian performing. Yeah, that’s quite the sucker punch and John Mulaney should apologize for this reprehensible action. Seriously. This is happening way too much of late and it just needs to stop. It is bad enough when Ted Sarandos cites free speech for Chappelle’s real hate. I’m sorry but actions have consequences and using free speech should no longer be an excuse. This is a real hate with real consequences that we’re talking about here!

Transphobic humor is not funny. Never has been. Never will be. It’s just a comedian’s way of showing that they are also a fucking asshole with no sense of compassion or empathy. And now, Mulaney must answer the charges of why he is fine with transphobia taking place at his show. Don’t think for a second that Chappelle was telling the truth his latest special on Netflix. I saw through his fucking bullshit. He is a chronic liar. Immediately after being attacked during the recent Netflix is a Joke festival, he made a transphobic joke. To no fucking surprise at all, this same comedian told transphobic jokes while opening for Mulaney. It is not funny.

Comedians need to decide if they stand for or against hatred. As long as any comedian is performing alongside Chappelle, they are basically endorsing transphobia. The same goes for Netflix’s Ted Sarandos. You cannot be fine with hate speech in ANY circumstance. It is harmful and only leads to more acts of hate. I cannot fucking say this enough! We’re living in a time where Fox News is radicalizing racists and they are gunning down Black people while invoking Tucker Carlson’s peddling of the antisemitic great replacement theory. It’s bad enough when the Hollywood Improv is openly allowing rapists and abusers to perform on their stages, including Louis CK. There is no place for any of this in comedy because it is not comedy. It’s just toxic assholery.

Comedians like John Mulaney need to decide who they support. Do they appreciate their transgender fans? Or would they rather throw the transgender community under the bus? It’s getting rather disappointing from where I stand. When you make fun of trans people, it is not funny! Comedians certainly need to do better because I’m running low on fucks to give. Enough is enough already!
