75th Emmy Awards Winners

Hosted by Anthony Anderson, the 75th Emmy Awards are being presented this evening from the Peacock Theater at L.A. LIVE.

There will be 27 categories this evening, including the Governor’s Award.

Tonight’s reunions and tributes include The Sopranos, Martin, Cheers, Grey’s Anatomy, Saturday Night Live Weekend Update, All in the Family, Ally McBeal, and I Love Lucy. No word if the Friends cast will pay tribute to the late Matthew Perry.

Following the cold open, Christina Applegate comes out to a standing ovation to present the first Emmy.

Jennifer Coolidge: “I want to thank all the evil gays.”

Anthony Anderson’s mother playing people off during the Emmy Awards is the recurring bit of the evening.

Marla Gibbs gets a standing ovation as Quinta Brunson presents an Emmy with her.

The Emmy Awards take us back to Cheers, the bar where everybody knows your name. Ted Danson, Kelsey Grammer, Rhea Pearlman, John Ratzenberger, and of course, George Wendt. It would have been nice had Shelley Long and Woody Harrelson made an appearance.

Ah, the Community theme song when Joel McHale and Ken Jeong present an Emmy.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia comes out to present an award. Danny DeVito previously received an Emmy Award when he was on Taxi.

Grey’s Anatomy is on the verge of becoming the longest running medical drama in primetime TV history.

Jon Hamm is displaying the humor that he’s so famous for during the Emmy Awards.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler sit down for a special Saturday Night Love Weekend Update reunion and present an award for Live Variety Special.

Elton John is now an EGOT winner with the Emmy win for Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium. It took him 37 years to complete an EGOT after winning a Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal (“That’s What Friends Are For”) in 1987. His first Oscar would follow with Best Original Song (“Can You Feel the Love Tonight” for The Lion King in 1995. His Tony Award came in 2000 with the Best Original Score for Aida.
