96th Academy Awards Predictions – Oscars Watch

Solzy at the Movies presents predictions for the 96th Oscars as the Academy Awards will be airing an hour earlier tonight on ABC.

My art of predicting who will leave the 96th Academy Awards with an Oscar is not by picking favorites. It is by studying the guilds and seeing how films performed during awards season. Oppenheimer is a clear choice to win several awards this evening just from seeing how well it has performed in the past few weeks. While the Annie Awards are helpful in predicting the animated short film winner, the short films are more or less where I am acknowledge my own weaknesses in predicting them.

Some guilds pick multiple feature film winners for contemporary and fantasy/period. As such, those categories could go either way. The Best Actress category has seen both Lily Gladstone and Emma Stone competing with each other. I’m going with Gladstone for this evening but it could go to Emma Stone or someone else.

The 96th Oscars will be held tonight at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC at 7 PM ET/4 PM PT and in more than 200 territories worldwide.
