Money Talks, which marked Brett Ratner’s feature directorial debut, recently received a Blu-ray release by way of the Warner Archive Collection. The film earned $48.4 million at the box office against a production budget of $25 million. Critics have been less than kind to the film although the late Roger Ebert had a positive reception to the film, giving it a 3/4.
The film’s Warner Archive release was in late March but they had sourced a stereo audio file rather than the intended 5.1 surround sound. It has since been corrected. In any event, Money Talks is an action comedy along the same vein as 48 Hrs. After previously working on a music video, Ratner and Tucker would team up again for three Rush Hour films.
