All six films in the Rocky: Ultimate Knockout Collection are now available for audiences to bring home and watch on 4K Ultra HD.
The release comes well over a year after the first four films were released together in a box set. This time around, the release includes the fifth and sixth films in the franchise. In addition to the theatrical releases, the set also includes the director’s cuts for both the fourth and sixth films of the franchise. In addition, the collection also includes a Blu-disc featuring bonus features for the first four films in the franchise. Unfortunately, there is a missed opportunity in not including a 30-minute documentary originally released in 2020. There are no bonus features for the fifth film. The sixth film includes bonus features on its 4K disc. Both Rocky V and Rocky Balboa are also available in steelbook packaging.
Irwin Winkler and Robert Chartoff are the producers of the first five films in the franchise. Charles Winkler, William Chartoff, David Winkler, and Kevin King took over the producer duties for the sixth installment.
The collection includes a digital copy redeemable on Fandango at Home (formerly Vudu). Unfortunately, the code is having issues and results in an error message, Promotion Not Found. I’ll update if or when this gets fixed after confirming with a colleague that their code has the same error message. Here’s to hoping that a fix will come sooner than later.
As of 2019, there were plans for Sylvester Stallone to reprise his role in another feature film but as of now, it’s unlikely to happen.
