The Emmy Award-winning Adult Swim series, Rick and Morty: The Complete Seasons 1-7, is now available for fans to bring home on DVD.

I realize that the series has its fans and many of them did not know of what happened behind the scenes prior to 2023. However, I would be remiss if I did not mention that series co-creator, actor, and previous showrunner Justin Roiland was charged with felony domestic battery and false imprisonment in January 2023. Adult Swim subsequently announced that they were cutting all ties with Roiland during production of the seventh season. Both Ian Cardoni and Harry Beldon would replace Roiland in the roles of Rick and Morty, respectively.

In addition to winning a pair of Emmy Awards, the series is also a winner of two Annie Awards. A number of writers have gone onto further success, including Star Trek: Lower Decks creator Mike McMahan. Both Michael Waldron and Jeff Loveness have been involved with the MCU. Both Alex Hirsch and Pete Michels have worked on Inside Job.

Synopsis

Rick and Morty is the critically acclaimed, half-hour animated hit comedy series on Adult Swim that follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe. Rick Sanchez is living with his daughter Beth’s family and constantly bringing her, his son-in-law Jerry, granddaughter Summer, and grandson Morty into intergalactic escapades.
