Veep: The Complete Series Arrives on Blu-ray

American democracy may be at stake during this election season but fans can now bring home Veep: The Complete Series on Blu-ray.

All 65 episodes of the 2012-2019 Emmy-winning series are packaged together with numerous bonus features. During its seven seasons, the series took home 17 Emmy Awards with another 59 nominations. Not surprisingly, Julia Louis-Dreyfus took home six Outstanding Lead Actress wins. The series picked up three Outstanding Comedy Series wins, and Tony Hale took home wins for Outstanding Supporting Actor during seasons 2 and 4. Despite earning nine nominations for its seventh and final season, the series was completely shut out at the Emmys as the majority of comedy wins went to either Fleabag or The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Veep follows U.S. Vice President Selena Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and her staff in a bid to secure a legacy. However, they become bogged down with the day-to-day political games being played in the nation’s capital. A former U.S. Senator from Maryland, Meyer starts the series as vice president to President Stuart Hughes. They don’t have the best of relationships and Meyer would also ascend to the presidency when Hughes resigns. Where The West Wing takes a dramatic approach, Veep goes all in on comedy.

There’s a large ensemble cast in the series. If I’m being honest, the casting of Sam Richardson as Richard Splett is easily one of the best decisions that they made. It isn’t just that he was able to hold his own against the former Seinfeld star but there was such an amazing level of chemistry with Timothy Simons’ Jonah Ryan.
