After three previous volumes, Looney Tunes Collector’s Choice Vol. 4 makes its arrival on Blu-ray from the Warner Archive Collection. Fans can take home the new volume as a single disc or packaged together with Volumes 1-3.
Who can resist a Putty Tat versus a monstrous canary, Goofy Gophers who kill their foe with kindness, Babbitt and Catstello hypnotizing the Cat, or Bugs Bunny versus a Yosemite Sam from outer space? You know all the characters on a first name basis: Daffy, Tweety, Sylvester, Speedy, Elmer, Foghorn and Wile E. You know the cartoons – they are the ones fans and animation aficionados have most asked for, restored to brand new condition, in High Definition, and finally available to own. Twenty-five crown jewels – with two additional bonus titles (featuring Bugs and Daffy) now presented in their full frame glory. Chuck Jones, Tex Avery, Friz Freleng, Art Davis and Robert McKimson are among the various directors of the shorts in this collection.
A reminder for parents: these collections are intended for the adult collector and may not be suitable for children. Always watch the shorts first before deciding if they are suitable for children. Please keep in mind that many of the shorts were made during a different era for filmmaking.
The 27 Looney Tunes shorts included on the fourth volume spans 1937-1964 and runs 188 minutes. They are presented with DTS-HD MA 2.0 sound and 16×9 1.37:1 aspect ratio with side mattes.
You cannot go wrong with this collection. It’s sad that there is just one short featuring Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner. Watching those two will never ever get old. Poor Wile E.
