29th ADG Awards Winners Announced

The Art Directors Guild have announced the winners of its 29th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards (29th ADG Awards). Acclaimed actress and comedian Rachael Harris hosted the ceremony, which took place at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown on February 15, 2025. It was one of three awards shows taking place on Saturday night, including the 2025 Writers Guild Awards and the 2025 MUAHS Awards.

The ADG Awards celebrate excellence in production design across theatrical motion pictures, television, commercials, music videos, and animated feature films. The 2025 Cinematic Imagery Award was presented to Academy Award-nominated director and filmmaker Jason Reitman, whose body of work includes Juno, Up in the Air, and Saturday Night.

In addition, the ADG also honored Lisa Frazza, Barbara Mesney, Dan Sweetman, and J. Dennis Washington with Lifetime Achievement Awards. Legendary production designer Carl Jules Weyl was inducted into the ADG Hall of Fame as part of the ceremony.

Nosferatu, Wicked, and Conclave are competing against each other at the Oscars in March. They’ll be up against The Brutalist and Dune: Part Two. The other two films were also nominated for the 29th ADG Awards. I give the edge to any of the three films that took home a win tonight. But given how much work went into creating the sets for Wicked, it would not surprise me if production designer Nathan Crowley takes home the award with set decorator Lee Sandales.
