Hulu Will Be Fully Integrated Into Disney+ Starting in 2026

The Walt Disney Company announced during its third quarter 2025 financial results that Hulu would be fully integrated into Disney+, starting in 2026.

The prepared commentary was delivered by CEO Bob Iger and CFO Hugh Johnson during the Q3 webcast:

“Today we are announcing a major step forward in strengthening our streaming offering by fully integrating Hulu into Disney+. This will create an impressive package of entertainment, pairing the highest-caliber brands and franchises, great general entertainment, family programming, news and industry-leading live sports content in a single app. By creating a truly differentiated streaming offering, we will be providing subscribers tremendous choice, convenience, quality, and enhanced personalization. By creating a truly differentiated streaming offering, we will be providing subscribers tremendous choice, convenience, quality, and enhanced personalization. This will enhance our ability to continue to grow profitability and margins in our entertainment streaming business through expected higher engagement, lower churn, and advertising revenue potential, as well as operational efficiencies that over time may result in savings that we can reinvest back into the business.”

The decision to fully integrate Hulu into Disney+ will allow Hulu to grow into a global entertainment brand. Starting this fall, Hulu will replace the Star title on the international app. Disney+ is working to implement new features to its app, including more personalization on its homepage and exciting new features.

The prepared commentary didn’t really go into what this means for those of us with solo subscriptions. Will subscribers be forced into getting a bundled subscription or will Disney+ end up hiking its rates as Hulu is fully incorporated? It comes at a time when tariffs are forcing the cost of living to increase for Americans. I can personally attest to knowing people who frequently subscribe and cancel their streaming service subscriptions depending on what’s being offered at the time.

A fully integrated Disney+ app with Hulu is coming soon.
