Amazon MGM Studios has announced the full cast for Spaceballs 2 and that production is now underway on the highly anticipated Spaceballs sequel. The studio released an image from the table read, indicating that Dark Helmet actor Rick Moranis is officially out of retirement. May the Schwartz be with you!
The Spaceballs 2 announcement comes just over two weeks before John Candy: I Like Me will be released on Prime Video. Candy previously starred as Lone Starr’s (Bill Pullman) sidekick Barf, a Mawg (half man, half dog, his own best friend) and parody of Chewbacca. Candy died in 1994. Joan Rivers, who voiced C-3PO parody Dot Matrix, passed away in 2014. A pair of longtime Mel Brooks veterans, Dom DeLuise and Dick Van Patten, passed away in 2009 and 2015, respectively.
