All three seasons of Ted Lasso have been packaged together in an 8-disc set on 4K Ultra HD in the recently released Ted Lasso: The Richmond Way.
The 4K UHD set follows a Blu-ray release in 2023. There’s no Dolby Atmos option for the audio track as the series has been released with a Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack. Unless you’re the type who is really into collecting your favorite shows on physical media, there’s not much of an incentive in bringing home the set. It’s just the 34 episodes from Seasons 1, 2 and 3. Personally, I would have held off on releasing a 4K UHD set until after the time in which they could include the recently announced fourth season. No word yet as to when the season will be premiering on Apple TV.
The downside of releasing series or movies onto a streaming service these days is that it means bonus content is very limited. Some Netflix films are lucky if they get selected for a physical media release through The Criterion Collection. While Ted Lasso was released on Apple TV, it was produced by both Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television. There was an opportunity here to include audio comments or other behind-the-scenes featurettes. Alas, there’s nothing. Not even the holiday short that was released onto Apple TV a few years ago!

The gist of Ted Lasso is that following a bitter divorce settlement from her husband, Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) becomes the new owner of AFC Richmond, a struggling Premier League football team. Her first order of business is to fire the team’s current manager and replace him with a small-time American football coach, Theodore “Ted” Lasso (Jason Sudeikis). Ted and assistant Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt) cross the pond to manage the team. Richmond is about to change the way they do things. From now on, it’s the Lasso way. What Ted lacks in knowledge, he makes up for with optimism, underdog determination … and biscuits.
In the 12-episode third season of Ted Lasso, the newly-promoted AFC Richmond faces ridicule as media predictions widely peg them as last in the Premier League and Nate (Nick Mohammed), now hailed as the “wonder kid,” has gone to work for Rupert (Anthony Head) at West Ham United. In the wake of Nate’s contentious departure from Richmond, Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) steps up as assistant coach, alongside Beard (Brendan Hunt).
Meanwhile, while Ted (Jason Sudeikis) deals with pressures at work, he continues to wrestle with his own personal issues back home, Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) is focused on defeating Rupert and Keeley (Juno Temple) navigates being the boss of her own PR agency. Things seem to be falling apart both on and off the pitch, but Team Lasso is set to give it their best shot anyway.
