All five seasons of Falling Skies: The Complete Series, which aired on TNT during 2011-2015, are available for fans to bring home on Blu-ray.

Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) is a former history professor-turned-second-in-command of the 2nd Massachusetts Militia Regiment, a paramilitary group of remnant US military personnel, military veterans, civilians and various fighters fleeing Boston following an alien invasion that devastated Earth some six months prior to the start of Falling Skies. Leading the regiment is retired United States Army Colonel Dan Weaver (Will Patton). The 2nd Mass itself is a historical allusion to the previous Continental Army regiment commanded by Colonel John Thomas and later, Colonel John Bailey.

Where things are as Falling Skies begins: the world’s power grid and technology have been neutralized. The world’s militaries were quickly defeated and mostly destroyed. As for humanity, over 90% of the global population were killed while major cities and capitals have been destroyed. There are 700 million humans remaining across the globe, continuing to lose their lives as aliens hunt them down.

Oscar-nominated screenwriter Robert Rodat, who wrote Saving Private Ryan, wrote the Falling Skies pilot from an idea co-conceived with executive producer Steven Spielberg.

At the moment, the series is available to watch on Netflix.
