Wizard World: Alex Kingston, Jenna Coleman, Catherine Tate talk Doctor Who

On Sunday afternoon, a trio of actresses (Alex Kingston, Jenna Coleman, and Catherine Tate) from Doctor Who gathered in Room 24 to discuss Doctor Who.

The panel was billed as What’s Life Without A Companion: A Conversation with Doctor Who’s Alex Kingston, Jenna Coleman, and Catherine Tate.  Representing different time periods of the modern Doctor Who era, Kingston (River Song), Coleman (Clara Oswald), and Catherine Tate (Donna Noble) were on hand to answer questions from the 800-plus members in the audience and it was largely an audience Q&A session.

Catherine Tate commented that her favorite outfit was the bathrobe in the “Midnight Run” episode of Doctor Who as the actress didn’t have to dress up that much.  She also called out an audience member taking unflattering photos while sitting in the front.

Tate admits to stealing David Tennant’s wallet while Jenna Coleman says that she took a piece of the TARDIS.

When asked to choose between David Tennant or Matt Smith, I believe it was Tate who answered Peter Capaldi.

One audience member asked the actresses what their favorite episode of Doctor Who was.  He responded “Nice” to all of their selections.  All three of them essentially responded that their first appearances on the series were their favorite episodes.  Who can blame them?  For Tate, her response was “Runaway Bride.”

As for the upcoming season, an audience member asked Alex Kingston if we would see River Song.  The response: “Spoilers.”

When asked what their dream role would be, Tate and Coleman didn’t want to give anything away.  For Kingston, it’s to appear on The Catherine Tate Show.

David Tennant was supposed to be one of the weekend headliners but the Doctor Who alumnus had to cancel his appearance on Friday due to a family matter.
