Elizabethtown Arrives On Blu-ray For The First Time

Cameron Crowe’s Elizabethtown makes its arrival on Blu-ray for the first time as the 14th title of the Paramount Presents line.

Last year, we celebrated the 20th anniversary of Almost Famous.  This year, it’s the 15th anniversary of the Kentucky set film starring Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst.  A number of Crowe films have milestone anniversaries in 2021:

  • Jerry Maguire celebrates its 25th anniversary.
  • Vanilla Sky marks its 20th anniversary and the last time Paul McCartney earned an Oscar nomination.
  • We Bought A Zoo marks its 10th anniversary.

The remastering for the Blu-ray comes from a 4K transfer supervised by Crowe.  Because the title is through the Paramount Presents line, it includes the same foldout poster and interior moments as other titles.  Moreover, we don’t only get the Filmmaker Focus with Crowe in terms of new bonus content.  The film gives us never-before-seen deleted scenes and an alternate ending!  This is in addition to the Digital copy and previously released features.  Some of the earlier Paramount Presents titles did not come with a Digital copy of the film so I’m that the recent titles have.

Synopsis

Orlando Bloom (Pirates of the Caribbean franchise) and Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man) star in this heartfelt romance set against a fantastic rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack.  Hot-shot designer Drew Baylor’s (Bloom) life becomes completely unraveled when he loses his father and his job on one fateful day. En route to Elizabethtown to visit his family, Drew meets Claire (Dunst). She’s beautiful, unstoppably positive, and just the gal to guide Drew on his journey back home and to teach him what it means to live and love along the way.
